Baby Swim Lessons

Baby swim lessons are a great way to teach your child some important developmental skills and have fun! Every new born baby has the potential to become a water baby, and the sooner a child discovers the freedom of buoyancy and underwater swimming, the more relaxed and independent he or she will become. From birth babies have the natural reflex of closing their  epiglottis when submerged underwater, but unless trained through baby swim instruction, they typically forget this skill. Baby swim lessons helps babies grow in a sense of self-esteem, confidence and independence. Baby swim classes also allows babies to exercise their muscles they seldom use, which helps in development of their motor, coordination and balance. Baby swim classes are very popular among Boise parents and children and are a good way to teach your kids to enjoy being in the water.

At Aqua-tots Boise, our baby swim lessons teach children from 6 months to 18 months  water entry/exit and develop swimming skills such as blowing bubbles, water submersion, kicking, and floating. A child over the age of 18 months will learn swimming readiness, breath control, balance, buoyancy and propulsion.

Our Mommy & Me baby swim classes are popular in Boise, offering you and your baby or infant a chance to bond in the comfort of our 90° swimming pool. Parents will be introduced to a variety of teaching principles such as proper holding techniques, safe water entry/exit, breathing control and water buoyancy. This baby swim instruction will assist both the parent and the baby by introducing a number of critical water safety skills and encouraging social interaction and fun. It’s irresponsible to teach a baby to enjoy the water, without giving them these important life saving swim skills.
